On this exciting adventure, our 5th Blackbeards trip, we’ll be traveling WAY off the beaten path to the out-islands of the Bahamas. Here we’ll find crystal clear water tinted in a thousand shades of blue, sweeping white sand beaches lined with pines and palms, breathtaking sunsets, incredible diving and snorkeling adventures, and enough memories to last a lifetime! With nearly 400 islands in the Exuma Cays to choose from we have no set schedule, we’ll be sailing and motoring on our own private itinerary, choosing the best diving and snorkeling spots for our group as we go. Often we can fish for our dinner (fresh sushi, anyone?) In addition, free diving for conch and to spearfish is also a possibility. Your biggest decision each day: Drinks at sunset...or prepare for a night dive? Even if you opt for a night dive, you can still look forward to relaxing on deck under a starry sky afterwards, reliving the days adventures and listening to the sounds of the ocean. We’ll have chances to swim ashore on deserted islands and walk the beaches, explore rocky dunes to find some iguanas to feed, or snorkel in the mangroves. If our schedule permits, we’ll even get to swim with the famous wild swimming pigs of the out-islands! But all the fun on this trip is not on the boat! Before we leave home, we’ll have a pre-trip party to give you an opportunity to meet your shipmates, and we’re also offering a free PADI Sea Turtle Awareness Specialty course. This course will make you an expert on the identification of one of our favorite marine creatures, the sea turtle. During the trip we’ll be spotting turtles and reporting our findings to ISTOR, the International Sea Turtle Observation Registry, for use in their ongoing research. (This course can count towards your Master Diver certification.) We’ll also have one night in Nassau, where we’ll have the rest of the day and evening free to explore all the island has to offer...shops, beaches, restaurants and night life! In addition, during the week we’ll dock one night at Staniel Island and have the chance to spend the evening ashore, sampling the night life of what Jimmy Buffet called “One of the Caribbean’s 10 Best Bars!†And one of the best features of this adventure is the great value, it’s FULLY INCLUSIVE!
