From the Owner

Like many others of my generation, I grew up watching Jacques Cousteau as he explored the wonders of our underwater world. He introduced me, and the rest of the world, to an incredible new environment with a seemingly endless number of colorful and exciting creatures. I remained fascinated by the aquatic world as I got older. After graduating high school, I learned to scuba dive and was finally able to experience first hand what I had been watching on television for much of my life.
So began a lifelong fascination with diving. Like many people, I always dreamed of the impossible, somehow combining a career with my favorite pursuit. After many years of operating my own retail establishments in non-diving fields, I finally decided to "take the plunge" and open a dive center.
In 1994, design and construction of Adventure Dive & Travel commenced with the facility opening in the fall of 1995. From the initial stages of design, throughout the development and continuing on today, AD&T has always been a unique and advanced concept.
Designed and built not just to service the divers in Springfield, Illinois, it was intended to be a regional dive center attracting interested divers from all over Central Illinois, St. Louis, Eastern Missouri, Indiana, Wisconsin and Iowa. In fact, our travel program now attracts divers from all over the U.S.!
As you explore our website, I think you will realize just how much we love to dive and to introduce others to the underwater world. Our facility, training programs, equipment, travel schedule and especially our incredible staff are second to none in our commitment to our passion.
Myself, as well as all of the staff truly believe that scuba diving is one of the most enriching and rewarding pursuits that one can experience. We sincerely hope the passion for diving becomes a lifelong pursuit for them as it has for us.
Hopefully, you will visit us sometime soon and share your latest dive story. Better yet, maybe you can join us on one of our famous dive adventures. No matter what you do, remember to keep traveling, keep diving, keep meeting new friends and above all….HAVE FUN!
