This is a great add-on extension to our July Cozumel trip. Isla Holbox (pronounced Hol-bosh) is becoming famous for the resident whale sharks that feed offshore during the late summer. Diving is not allowed, but snorkeling is a great way to experience these gentle giants of the ocean. Measuring between 20 and 45 feet, whale sharks are the largest sharks in the world, but feed only on plankton and small fish. At Holbox we can find them feeding near the surface and then have the chance to swim with them! In between whale sharks we can handline fish and our captain will prepare fresh ceviche for lunch! Our afternoons and evenings will be spent relaxing on unspoiled, un-touristed Holbox, Many travelers compare Holbox to Cozumel circa 1960...before the crowds of tourists arrived! Wednesday morning we’ll have a private boat and van transfer to Cancun airport to catch our flight.
