ADVANCED OPEN WATER
The course consists of one classroom session and 5 open water dives. The open water dives can be completed on any of our Caribbean adventures, or in one weekend on our Cozumel, Panama City Beach, Bredina Springs or Haigh Quarry trips. AD&T will provide all basic equipment including tanks and weights for the pool session but students must purchase or rent their own equipment for the open water dives. At the completion of this course, you will receive a PADI Advanced Open Water Certification Card. This course is the first step toward the Master Scuba Diver certification. Elective Dives: (Pick 3)
Extra dives can be added for $40 per dive. Specialty Dive Descriptions and Materials Deep Dive: Gain experience of the depths safely while diving between 60 and 130 feet with an instructor. All specialized gear is supplied for this dive. more... Navigation Dive: Practice one step beyond the basics to better your skills with a compass underwater. Although you are encouraged to have your own compass to become familiar with it, compasses can be rented to those who don’t already own one. more... Night Dive: Learn the tips to safely dive after the sun goes down and the night critters come out. Students must provide a whistle, their own primary diving ligh, a backup light as well as a safety light such as a chemical light stick. The primary dive lights can be rented for this dive, but not the backup or safety light. more... Digital Underwater Photography: One of the most popular dives lets you learn the basics of camera operation and composition of underwater photography. The Sea & Sea DC1200 camera and strobe system with strobe will be supplied for the open water dive. Your images will be evaluated on-site by you and your instructor . If you wish to keep your images you need to supply a memory card. more... Drysuit Diver: Look and feel just like the instructors and divemasters. Find out why diving dry can make you a diver for all seasons. Use of a drysuit is included for the pool session and can be rented for a special price for the open water dive. more... Search and Recovery: Have fun with basic search patterns to locate lost objects, and learn how to operate a lift bag to move heavy objects underwater. All ropes, lift bags and other gear are provided for the open water dive. more... Underwater Naturalist: An introduction to fish and critter identification (tailored to your dive site), the underwater ecosystem and how to responsibly interact with it. A visual presentation will be provided during the classroom session. Students provide their own underwater slate for the open water dives. more... Wreck Dive : Introduction to the special training and techniques needed to safely explore sunken ships. Student provides a wreck reel and an underwater slate for the open water dive. A wreck reel can be rented for a special price. This dive, as with all Advanced dives, counts as the first dive in the Wreck Diving Specialty course, ask your instructor for details. more... Peak Performance Buoyancy: Learn perfect buoyancy skills, breathing techniques and body control that will put you more at ease in the water and help minimize negative impact on the reef. more... Drift Dive: Some of the best diving in the world can only be experienced through drift diving. This dive will introduce you to the proper techniques and skills you need to drift dive safely, efficiently and with less effort. more... During this session you’ll practice the finesse and physical skills needed to handle a panicked and out-of-control diver. more... Are you still carrying a C-card that labels you as a beginning diver? Get rid of it! With the Advanced Open Water course, there has never been a better time to move up. As part of the course, you will more than double the amount of practical, in-water training you received in your beginning course, gain additional diving experience under the supervision of a thoroughly trained PADI instructor and meet new friends and diving buddies. You will also gain an introduction to popular specialty diving activities.
